Another thrilling edition of the Alpe Adria Cup is about to have its spectacular finale. The top 4 men’s teams from the group stage will clash in Kapfenberg, Austria, on 12 and 13 March. The first edition of the women’s version of the competition will culminate on 9 and 10 March in Piešťany, Slovakia, also with the top 4 teams.
In the men’s competition, we will in the Final Four reigning champions from Dabrowa Górnicza and three newcomers – Timisoara, Olomoucko and Bulls. OCS Capital Bulls, who are making their debut at the AAC Final Four, will take the hosts’ baton. The highly ambitious club has been in the competition for a long time, and has experience of the FIBA Europe Cup to add to that.
„It’s an honor for our club, our city, and Innofreight to get the opportunity to host this event. Kapfenberg has been known for being a sports city for years, and we will make sure to be the hosts that this great competition deserves. We will have four teams to compete on a very good level, and of course the OCS Capital Bulls chase the dream of winning their first international title,“ said the general manager of OCS Capital Bulls Michael Schrittwieser.
The women’s version of the AAC is in the same situation, before the final tournaments Piešťany, Banská Bystrica and KAŽL Split are already booked with their tickets. In Kranj, Slovenia next weekend (24th and 25th February) it will be decided who from Group A will get the opportunity to fight for the first ever title. Piešťany decided to organize the women’s big final. The current champion of Slovakia and a recent Eurocup entrant, they have plenty of experience in hosting big events, most recently hosting the Czech-Slovak Cup in their Diplomat Arena.

In March, we will have the finals of another interesting edition of the Alpe Adria Cup. In a few days we will get to know the men’s and women’s winners in the 2023/2024 season. “We have an exciting season behind us that will culminate in the ultimate battle with the top 4 teams. We are looking forward to Kapfenberg, which is a traditional and already experienced club. The Alpe Adria Cup itself is soon to celebrate the anniversary of its founding, so we are also looking to take the competition to the next level with this event. We are not only trying to take the men’s sport forward, but we have already been joined by women as well. We are looking forward to the culmination in the spa town of Piešťany, we are happy that we have been able to kick it off. Our goal is to double the number of teams after the first debut edition because it’s a perfect product. Our ambition is to develop all the possibilities and have them under one roof,” said more president of the AAC Gerald Martens.
