The 2021/2022 season of Alpe Adria Cup is coming to the finish line. Now we know where the four teams will fight for the trophy. The hosts of Final Four are Levice, the key dates are 16th and 17th March.
Aside from many obstacles, mainly the COVID-19, we are getting close to the grandest stage of all – Final Four. It will be only the second time, where the best teams will fight in one place. “After a one year break, we are close to concluding the sixth season despite the pandemic situation. This is a great achievement from all players, clubs, and federations involved. We are looking forward to a great end to a challenging AAC-year,“ said member of AAC board Johannes Wiesmann.
Marek Imre, the member of AAC board explains: „There were three clubs interested in hosting this tournament – Vienna, Spišskí Rytieri and Patrioti Levice. I would like to thank them all for their interest. Draw was made and lucky one was Levice, who will be the host of this tournament. BK Patrioti Levice has played in all seasons of Alpe Adria Cup so far and the town of Levice is hosting the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, so the infrastructure in the gym and town is very suitable for our Final Four tournament.“
The place and stage is set, the Final Four will be in Slovakia, namely Levice. Patrioti are the only team to participate in all of the AAC season and each time they reach play-off. Now they are waiting for their semifinals opponents, the winner of quarter finals between MKS Dabrova Górnicza and BC GGMT Vienna.
While Levice are waiting for their opponents, the second semifinal pairing is clear. The reigning champions BK Pardubice will face this year´s newcomers – Spišskí Rytieri. “I’m extremely happy that the best teams of this year’s competition will fight for the trophy at the Final Four hosted by Patrioti Levice – one of the founding members of Alpe Adria Cup. They were part of the vision back in 2015, seven years later AAC is better than ever. We are looking forward to a great future,“ says president of Alpe Adria Cup Gerald Mertens.
All games will be broadcasted live by TV JOJ Šport and streamed internationally by their online platform Huste.tv (including pre/post match interviews and TV studio). Many more news about the Final Four is coming soon.
